The Creed Legacy The Creed Cowboys Linda Lael Miller 9780373776009 Books

This the third in the triology of the Creed family men is by far the simplest to know what is going to happen. Maybe it's because all the books are similar, or maybe it is just that the stories are getting old and predictable.

The best book of the three is the first, it has the most twists and turns and the potential for the most fun. This installment is just to simple.

Brody Creed is home and mending fences with his family and hopefully with Carolyn Simmons. But frankly he goes about it in the worst way. Of the three Creed young men he would be the rogue. He has moved around, slept around and been the cowboy that most people think cowboys are, loyal, hard working, play hard, drink hard and see lots of women.

But he has to come home to try and find himself after the death of his wife and son. Yes he did settle down and get married, but only because he had to. The whole time he dreamed of Carolyn.

Now he is back and can he find the real love of his life and settle down with her.

The book is predictable. The book has way to much sexual content for my taste. I found that you could skip pages of text and not miss the story line.

So why did I give it a three? Well I liked the characters and their development. I liked that Brody could mature, see his faults and work into being the person we think he can be.

I hope you enjoy the read, but do start with the first two in the series.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS ON THE CREED FAMILY, THEY'RE ANOTHER GENERATJION OF TH MCKETTRICK FAMILY AND OH MY, YOU DON'T TO MISS ANY OF THEM, SO ENJOY READING THE INTERESTING STORIES, OF THEM ALL!!!
I ENJOYED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM, SO THANKS LINDA, A JOB WELL DONE, IN WRITING THEM ALL AND KEEPING ONE INTERESTED, IN EACH AND EVERY BOOK YOU WROTE ABOUT THEM,I SURE DID~
ELLIE MILLING, DIAMOND SPRINGS, CA.
I have been reading these series from my local library. This one wasn't there and it was part of one so I had to have it. I love the western settings (because of my love of horses and the ranch life) She has a way of writing about the romance and putting the suspense in there that is close to Nora Roberts but she has her own style that doesn't make it the same. I haven't read the McKettrick's Choice Series yet but am looking forward to it.
I have been a fan of Lael Miller's for a while now, and have seen the quality of her books decline. This last book in the trilogy was clearly hastily written. I thought it really lacked any substance, and the story line is recycled from previous books (could have been Tate, Garrett and Austin or Logan, Dylan and Tyler). There were a few details that obviously weren't edited correctly. In the Hidden Lake scene, Brody is said to have left his cowboy hat on the horse's saddle, then it's said he sets in on his clothes. In the following scene, the story indicates he left it in the truck at the ranch house and never even had it! Come on! The use of the term "copse of trees" or "copse of cottonwood trees" is in EVERY SINGLE book I have read! I like a good romance book, and a good cowboy story, but I might have to start looking elsewhere!
I enjoyed the story quite a bit - Carolyn and Brody were a great couple, and the fact that Tricia and Conner were part of the cast just added to it.

The problems I had with the story were at a technical level - missing words, a couple of misplaced words, and, most annoying of all words with random spaces in them. The last item is probably just with the version, but it wasn't uncommon to see something like this vers ion, unc ommon, som ething, etc.

Still, a good read. Worth the $6? Probably not.
Has a unique writing style, her stories pack an emotional punch and are at the same time full of light and laughter, I have read many of her books and will read many more and will love each and every one.
This is the third in the Stone Creek Series in which Boyd, Conner's twin, finally returns to the Stone Creek ranch. Brody had stayed away from his twin and his love, Carolyn Simmons, because of some difficulties he had brought upon himself. He had decided to suffer in silence and did not tell any of his family about his grief. After years of being with the rodeo, he decided to return and this is a book about forgiveness - of yourself and of others. It is a wonderful story of love and romance but in a way it transmits melancholia so if you are reading it, pick a sunny, peaceful day to enjoy a good novel.
After being thoroughly disappointed in the previous installment of LLM's latest trilogy (Creed's Honor, Connor's story) I have to say I really enjoyed this one. Brody and Carolyn were very real characters, each with their own issues, each with their own plans and dreams of how they'd like to live their life going forward. The dialogue between the two main characters was far, far better than the previous book, and there were some nice sparks between them as well. One issue I had, and this is probably just me, but the Tricia in this book was NOTHING like the Tricia in Creed's Honor. Completely different personality. Otherwise, all of LLM's trademarks were there the requisite stray dog was present, the horses all got fed, the cows brought 'round, the main characters worked things out and everyone lived happily ever after. If you're an LLM fan, you'll like this one.
